Kwadwo Osei Afriyie, popularly known as Afriyie of Wutah fame has confessed to missing his former group mate, Daniel Morris (Wutah Kobby), four years after parting ways.
The group separated just when they gained prominence on the Ghanaian music scene with several hit songs including 'Kotosa' which enjoyed heavy radio rotations.
There have been several calls for them to come back together especially when their solo music careers have not made that impact as it did when they were together.
Speaking in an interview on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM with Mamavi Owusu Aboagye Friday, Afriyie said he is "hopeful" the group will reunite, confessing that he misses his former partner.
"I'm human, I've got feelings and I've known Kobby my entire life. We grew up together, he is like a brother from another mother."
He refuted reports that there is tension between them stating that "the people around you always generate the tension but there isn't any tension at all."
Commenting on the split, Afriyie explained that: "It was bound to happen, things happen for a reason" and that, "Individually we are still trying to reach that top that we've [been] aiming for."
He assured music fans and Ghanaians that, there is still hope of the group because "Wutah is not dead, Wutah is still alive."
Wutah, which means fire in Hausa, came into the limelight when they placed second to Praye during the maiden edition of the Nescafe Africa Revelation music competition in Accra in 2004.
Their debut album, 'Anamontuo', with songs like 'Adonko', 'Gossy Gander' and 'Big Dreams' earned them eleven Ghana Music Award nominations including the 'Most Popular Song of the Year', 'Album of the Year', and 'Artiste of the Year'.
Their track 'Big Dreams' won the Reggae song of the year at the 2006 edition of the Ghana Music Awards.
Afriyie's song 'Everlasting Love' received a nomination for the 'Record of the Year' category at the 2014 edition of the Ghana Music Awards.
