Actress-Zynnell Zuh’s Soon to Be Premiered Movie-WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND Receives 2 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards’ Nominations | Another Reason To Attend The Premiere On December 19 & 20

When it comes to movies, you can measure their strength or greatness with the number of recognizable award nominations they score—or the awards they go on to win.

Actress Zynnel Zuh’s maiden production-WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND which received 7 Ghana Movie Awards 2014 nominations including Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography—has again scored 2 nominations (Best Movie-Comedy and Best Script) in the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards…

Obviously, these nominations show that, the movie is worth seeing—and as such, you should not miss it’s premiere on 19th December, 2014 at the SilverBird Cinemas (Accra Mall-6:30pm and 9:30pm).
The next day-20th December, 2014, the movie will again be premiered at the Weija’s SilverBird Cinema (6:30pm and 9:30pm) and the cast together with other celebrities will attend both premieres.
Receiving multiple movie awards nominations with her maiden movie brings to light, that actress/producer-Zynnel Zuh has something good to offer—and quickly, she could build an enviable credibility in the Ghana Movie Industry.

‘WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND’ revolves around a character named ‘Love’ (played by Zynnell Lydia Zuh). After an early heartbreak Love grows up not believing in true love. Money and social status become her main criteria as she searches for her dream man.
During a hangout with her two close friends-Vicky (Eku Edewor) and Didi (DJ Pierra Makena), she finds her dream man but that is when her true love comes knocking too.”

Featuring a strong pan African cast- Zynnell Zuh, Jim Iyke, Eku Edewor, Mikki Osei, Edward Kuffuor & Others, ‘WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND’ is an excellent first time effort from actress-Zynnell Zuh as a producer and a co-writer.

The movie was directed by Afe Olumowe who penned hits like Chelsea and directed the critically acclaimed thriller-The Voice.

Lauryn Hill In Ghana

Ms Lauryn Hill, popular American songstress and former member of the hip-hop group, ‘The Fugees’, arrived in Ghana Friday, December 12, for the 2014 edition of ‘The Big Weekend Afro-Beats Festival’ scheduled for December 12, 13 and 14 at the Independence Square in Accra.

Ms Hill is headline artiste for the three-day music festival which has on its performance bill the likes of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Efya, Okyeame Kwame, Mzvee, Joey B, Chase, Lil Shaker, Jay-So, Kumasi Kojo-Cue, Treasure, AI, Dex Kwasi and several others.

Surprisingly, event organiser BBnZ has confirmed that tickets for the entire three-day concert are selling at just GH¢10 and that all ticket sales will be at the gates.

On arrival today, Ms Hill is expected to have a brief encounter with entertainment journalists at the plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra ahead of the concert.

Though the ‘The Big Weekend Afro- Beats Festival’ takes off this evening, Ms Hill will be mounting the stage on Sunday night for a never-to-be forgotten 15live acoustic performance.

The event was first held in December 2013 as a historic entertainment festival to re-brand Ghana as a country that has the capacity to host world class music concerts and a country that is a hot tourist destination in the West African sub-region.

This year’s event is expected to be an improvement on the maiden edition.

According to the programme, the festival will start on Friday, December 12 with a Hip-hop-themed concert, followed by an actual Afro-beats party on Saturday December 13, and on Sunday December 14, a mellowed down live Acoustic gig will take place.

This year’s show will end up as an international concert as NEWS-ONE has gathered that there have already been several international bookings of tickets from music lovers across Africa and beyond.

Club Beer, beverage sponsor of the three-day concert, will be selling its products at factory price at the event’s venue and several eateries and restaurants will also be making make-shift setups just like last year.

The Independence Square, as the event’s venue, provides a huge space for parking cars and an unparalleled security presence.

Versatile Replay Show On Sunday December 21

You might be wondering what the noise is all about for after all there have been other stage performances laced with music, dance and poetry.

But when a relatively unknown theatre player rather hailed for his musical gifts manages to pull off a spectacular stage performance ably assisted by a 60 man crew then folks and foes alike sit up and then brace themselves for another dose of the magical portion.

After staging the first show on November 8 to wide acclaim, it soon became evident that a replay was only fitting.

Okyeame Kwame and his Firm Bridges Communication have thus scheduled Sunday the 21st of December 2014 as the day for the staging of the replay show at the National Theatre.

So what can patrons expect? There will be a magical show, where a magician performs illusions. There will be tons of music generated from the belly of Samini, Eugene Baah and other musicians.

There shall be acting displays involving Okyeame Kwame himself, Ekow Smith Asante, Adjetey Anang, Wanluv de kuborlor, Adina and others.

The story is as simple as its gripping. Take a grave ill in the society (begging) and then play it out to prick the conscience of the citizenry hopefully to compel them to act and change their harmful ways.

Prepare to meet the five characters: The Pimp, The Politician, The Police, The Pastor and The Prostitute as they bring to life the written and produced work of the ‘Rap Doctor’ Okyeame Kwame.

Tickets are selling for GH? 100 at designated centres including front desk of Firm Bridges Communication, Koala, Baatsona Total, Airport Shell, Peace FM, Tema Shell fuel station, all University Campuses in Accra and also at the National Theatre.

The Okyeame Kwame Versatile Replay Show is made possible thanks to the collaboration of the National Theatre with Sponsorship from Japan Motors, Viasat1, Global Media Alliance, Aqua Safari Resort, GhOne TV and Midland Savings and Loans.
