Charterhouse Vs. Shatta Wale: No Out-Of-Court Settlement

The headlining court case between reigning Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Year’ Winner, Shatta Wale and event organizers, Charterhouse and their head, Iyiola Ayoade – is sure to go its full stretch, contrary to talks that the case might be settled out of the court room.

During the hearing of the case on October 20, 2014, Shatta Wale’s lawyer pleaded with the court for an out-of-court settlement and asked for one month, within which they believe the case might have been settled amicably between the two parties; but indications are clear that the posturing and proclamations from the two disputing parties show that, no settlement is being discussed.

The industry is thorn with mixed feelings as a section are pleading for the out-of-court settlement while another section wishes to see the case travel its full legal length, however, Public Relations for Charterhouse, George Quaye disclosed that his outfit are yet to see any meaningful effort from Shatta’s camp in settling the case – although his lawyer did submit an official letter requesting for an out-of-court settlement.

Asked about the efforts made by Charterhouse in settling the case out of court, he stated: “At our end, it’s not even come up for discussion yet.

We have been busy with projects, ‘Barney,’ ‘Challenge, ‘Miss Malaika Pageant’ plus tons of corporate events to handle.

With no efforts being made by both parties to settle the case, all is therefore set for them to re-appear in court on November 3, 2014 as ordered by the judge.

Asked if Charterhouse is only waiting to see off the case on November 3, George Quaye responded,” Yes!”

On 2nd October 2014, Charterhouse sued Shatta Wale for defamation, seeking damages of GH10million. This was after the self-acclaimed Dancehall King, made derogatory videos against the events company and its CEO, Iyiola Ayoade.

An Accra Fast Track High Court on Monday October 20, 2014 sat to hear the case involving Mr. Iyiola Ayoade and Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. The artiste was represented in court by his father and manager for Administration, Mr. Mensah and his Manager for PR, Asiamah Hanson aka Bulldog.

At the end of the hearing, the court granted an interlocutory injunction against Shatta Wale meaning that, Shatta Wale is barred from releasing anything against Charterhouse or anybody affiliated with Charterhouse be it in writing on social media, in music, radio, TV, video or through any other form of communication or publication.

I Love You...Balotelli's Sister Tells Obafemi Martins

Former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins turned 30 Years yesterday.

Check out the loving message from his baby mama/girlfriend, Abigail Barwuah, who happens to be Balotelli's sister.

Birthday Message

My life Is In Danger - Shatta Wale Victim

Shatta Wale and Rashid Abu

After controversial Ghanaian musician, Shatta Wale, allegedly assaulted him in the presence of his manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, aka Bull Dog, at his East Legon residence, the victim, Rashid Abu, says he has been living in fear and is scared his life is in danger.

According to the young man, he has fled his residence at Dansoman in Accra because of the fear that Shatta Wale and his ‘macho men’ would come and assault him.

“Right now, I am afraid. I can’t even sleep in my house at Dansoman because Shatta Wale knows where I stay. I’m scared he and his thugs will come after me and assault me again,” Rashid told 'News-One'.

Shatta Wale, known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., and his purported hoodlums allegedly picked Rashid from his shop at Adabraka on Sunday afternoon to his (Shatta Wale’s) East Legon residence under the pretext that he(Shatta Wale) was going to pay an amount of GH¢150 he owed the young man.

“Shatta Wale came to pick up some outfits worth GH¢150 from my shop five months ago but refused to pay. After some time, when I called he refused to answer. I called him on Sunday, he picked it and started insulting me. He even told me that he was not going to pay me my money. Later, he came to my ‘Blow Money Fast’ boutique at Adabraka in the company of some ‘macho men’ and Bull Dog. He asked that I join him in his car so that he pays me my money,” Rashid Abu stated.

Rashid recounted that as Shatta Wale was slapping him with a bundle of GH¢50, Bull Dog asked him to beg the artiste to avoid further assault.

“In the heat of the slaps, Shatta asked me to beg him and I refused but Bull Dog told me to do what his artiste wanted so that I will be free. Shatta Wale knows me very well so does his manager Bull Dog…,” he added.

Attempts to speak to Bull Dog or the controversial musician were unsuccessful as their lines were not active. Text messages sent to Bull Dog’s phones also did not elicit response before press time.

The victim has since reported the incident at the Central Police Station in Accra.

Shatta Wale was recently in the news for publishing on his social media page, some four videos of himself making derogatory and insulting statements against Charter House.

The musician also hurled insults at his colleague musicians, workers of Charter House and owners of the company. A portion of the video has even been said to border on threats.

Charter House, a private company with expertise in events management and production, later sued him for defamation.

They are demanding GH¢10 million as damages for the defamatory comments made in the four videos that the artiste had uploaded on the social media.

At the first hearing, the court granted an order restraining Shatta Wale from making further defamatory remarks about Charter House.

Shatta Wale is now begging for an out-of-court settlement of the case and has formally written to lawyers of Charter House to that effect.

The case has been adjourned to November 2, 2014.

Stonebwoy Angry At 2014 4syte Music Video Awards Nominations

Dancehall artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy, has conveyed his disappointment in a post on facebook about this year’s 4syte Music Video Awards nominees announced on October 11 at the Oak Plaza Hotel in Accra.

In a facebook post on Sunday, Stonebwoy said he should have been nominated for ‘Best Music Video” and “Best Story Line’ categories. He alleged that the nominations and winning process is not fair as the public sees it. IN the words of the Bhim Nation hitmaker,
“Listen I think I DESERVE to have been nominated for#BestMaleVideo, #BestStoryLine with #NOTAGAIN at this year’s #4SYTEMUSICVIDEO AWARDS @official4SYTETV .. is it because the director wasn’t part of the selection process ?
Being Nominated For a category Well deserved, Is worth way much more than the award To Me.. because the winning process can always be manipulated..
This is not the first of its kind when it comes to Awards.. My Fans and I have worked hard enough so to make it speak for us instead of following the “band wagon method” to be noticed.. ghana knows what I mean”
Stonebwoy was nominated for Best Reggae/Dancehall Video category.
4syte Music Video Awards comes off on November 15 at the Accra International Conference Center. Watch the launch of this year’s awards below

Apologise To Charter House; Bulldog’s Lawyer Advices Shatta Wale

The personal lawyer of Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson (Bulldog), manager of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has advised the artiste to render an unqualified apology to events outfit, Charter House.

Gary Nimako Marfo's advice follows a GHc10 million lawsuit brought by Charter House against Shatta Wale, known in real life as Nii Armah Mensah Jnr.

Charter House and Mr. Iyiola Ayoade, CEO of the company, are suing the reigning Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year over series of what they say are defamatory videos he released on social media site, Facebook.

They are asking the court to, inter alia, award the amount as damages for the four defamatory videos the artiste uploaded on Facebook.

Charter House and Mr. Iyiola Ayoade filed the suit at the Fast Track Division of the High Court in Accra last week, October 2. They are praying the court to declare the said videos – uploaded on September 23 and September 24 - as defamatory.

They are asking the court to order Shatta Wale to render “an unqualified apology and retraction of each of the four separate videos with the approval by the Plaintiffs prior to the recording and uploading” to his Facebook page.

The Plaintiffs are also asking that the Dancehall artiste renders an apology for each of the four videos and send to within a week of the judgment “all media houses and online publications that have aired the defamatory videos complained of and ensure that same and/or published at his own expense.”

Charter House and Mr. Iyiola Ayoade are also asking the court for an “order of perpetual injunction restraining the Defendant, his agents, hirelings, manager(s), privies and assigns or any person through him and howsoever described from making and/or repeating the defamatory statements or similar statements in the nature of the ones complained in the video recordings.”

Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo, speaking on the matter in an interview on Rhythmz A-Z on Joy FM with Mamavi Owusu Aboagye Saturday, said if he were to advise Shatta Wale, he will urge him to apologize and retract the comments he made.

According to him, the videos the artiste uploaded are many and “what I saw were certain words which were being uttered by Shatta Wale but I don’t know whether those were the words which have been used to sue him.”

Asked if what he saw and heard in the videos are defamatory, the lawyer said “yes. What I saw were insults. They were insults which were being meted out to [Mr. Iyiola Ayoade] but I don’t know whether that is the subject matter of the suit.”

Mr. Nimako Marfo was of the view that, “as human beings we should allow common sense sometimes to prevail in certain matters. Making certain statements – whether they are insults – I think they should be well guarded because if you are an artiste, you have followers …we are all watching, we are all listening.”

“If I were one of the managers of the young man [Shatta Wale], I will advise him that 'look, just go apologize, retract and let matters lie.' There is sometimes no basis to battle every matter in court.”

“If you are not careful and they [Charter House] succeed with this case in court, what it simply means is that, they will have judgment against you and then you must pay the judgment,” and if you are not able to pay the judgment debt, “they will attach your properties and anything in your name.”

I Don’tWork With “Borla” Goods – Hammer

sark_hammer

Legendary beatmaker Hammer has described most Ghanaian acts as unprofessional. According to Edward Nana Poku Osei, known as “Da Hammer”, most of these artistes now do their music in a freestyle manner and noted that this is affecting the industry. He said he has decided not to work with many artistes but just a few because he wants quality products.
In an interview with News One, the brain behind Last 2 Music Group said;
“It seems to us that most of the artistes now do things like the freestyle; they just do things from the head. The way they go about their stuff is not quite professional, so we decided to go back and deal with artistes that we feel deserve to work with us.
I don’t do mass production. My studio is a private studio now and I have the power to choose who I want to work with. It is not like the commercial studio that you can walk into and just pay money and record.
We are quite ‘choosey’. We want a particular breed of artiste to work with. About professionalism and creativity, we want a certain calibre of artistes.”

Nite Clubs No More Lucrative; "Managers Do Not Treat DJ`s Well" -DJ Black

The blame game is about to start again even as Flex newspaper is revisiting another discussion on the collapse of Nite Clubs in Ghana over the years.

As if it is a curse which has been placed on many Nite clubs in the country, most of them do not appear to be enjoying longevity in terms of operation.

In a previous interview with DJ Black as to why Nite Clubs businesses collapse in Ghana that easily, he told Flex newspaper that it is because Nite Club managers do not treat DJ`s well, hence, why the clubs do not last long in the system.

“People always go to the Nite Clubs when they know there are serious and good resident Djs who provide good music to revelers any time the clubs operate. In the absence of these Djs, there is no clubbing because the assets and the drinks in the house alone cannot make the revelers who come there happy but good music from special Djs” DJ Black told Flex newspaper.

He even added that because the Djs are not respected by the club owners, they do not even keep the Djs Cabin clean enough for the Djs to operate in healthy environments which is also affecting the delivery of the DJ.

Meanwhile, Flex newspaper investigations have proven that the issues leading to the collapse of Nite clubs in Ghana goes beyond bad treatment of Djs but the availability of open pubs on the streets of Accra.

A journey around town in Accra at night will expose one to many open pubs on roadside with a good number of people dancing and drinking their hearts out bringing in mind this economic equation.

If music will be given to the people at the same cost with the drink, why would he or she pay another cash as entry fee at a Nite club else where that the DJ might not even be better than the open pub DJ.

This problem is more economical than poor treatment of DJ`s by the Nite club owners and according to our investigations, it is causing more harm to the Nite club than one can imagine.

In an interview with a DJ at Aponkye Spot in Adabraka, he told Flex newspaper that now musicians do not even give them breathing space as every one wants his music to be promoted at these joints more than the Nite Clubs.

"I Am Not Supposed To Look For A Man" – Genevieve Nnaji

Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji who has not being tagged to any man after her relationship with D’banj has affirmed that she is single and not searching, because she is a woman, so she is not supposed to look for a man, a man is supposed to look for her. She said this on the Truth with Olisa;

“I am a woman we are not allowed to look, right now, I don’t have a boyfriend, I am that kind of person that eats with her eyes, I need to be attracted to you. Definitely there has to be a physical attraction to draw me to you. But at the end of the day, it’s my mind I am going to fall in love with, so there is something that keeps me, so, I just think that, I am probably looking for a friend, somebody who shares a like mind and somebody who is confident. I like tall guys. I am short so you have to think of the kids” she said.

The actress who just re-launched her St. Genevieve clothing line and has about two major endorsement deals with big brands, said any man that is scared of her being successful is a boy. She is not looking for a kind of man that let artificial things like wealth intimidate them.

When she was asked if she would marry a man richer than her, she said she is not rich because she pays tax, she pays rents, she runs an office, so talking about money, she spends and not about the money she makes.

People Wish They Were LikeMe - Wanlov

Controversial Rapper Wanlov the Kubolor has stated that most Ghanaians who insult and criticise him wish they were like him.

Wanlov has, over the years, been consistent in generating controversy about himself and has been called many vulgar names because society is unable to relate to his style.

Some individuals on Twitter yesterday started lashing out at the ‘Beatrice’ hit maker over some pictures and comments he posted.

But he stated that Ghanaians often insult individuals they wish they were as a result of jealousy, adding that they wished they were like him.

Obrafour Set To Release New Single Tomorrow After Missing Out For 5 Years

obrafour_m.anifest

When talking about hiplife in Ghana, one rap artist you can never rule out is Obrafour who was affectionately called Ghana Rap Sofo by his fans.

He is one of the artists who came and changed the whole phase of the hiplife game with his cutting edge lyrics which saw him soar to greater heights in the game.

Obrafour who released his first album ‘Pae Mu Ka’ in late 1999, and later set on to release more albums which won him many awards in the country, has been off the scene for a while but featuring on other artists singles and albums throughout the years. He was quite recently featured on M.anifest’s ‘No Shortcut To Heaven’ and that of other artists such as, Guru, Sarkodie, Samini and many more some few years ago and has not been active for a while now. He’s one artist who can go off the scene for many years and still bounce back with a BANG!

Apart from being a good lyricist, he’s good at singing too and knows how to construct very nice and up to the point choruses too. Simply put, he knows how to put the chips together to come out with a very nice chorus on a song.

Many up and coming artists and even those already in the game looked up to him for inspiration and his songs impacted positively in the lives of many. He’s one artist whose songs are loved by both young and old due to his well cut out lyrics.

He’s a bit media shy and has been able to keep a low profile for a while now, but by the time the sun sets tomorrow, 8th October 2014, he’s set to release his first single after 5 years titled “Odasani” featuring M.anifest and recorded by Oteng.

There’s been much talk about of the single even before it’s release. M.anifest on his facebook wall described how he was privileged to be a part of the single, Hammer who was the godfather behind the success of Obrafour also had a few words to say about the single.
This is what M.anifest had to say:
Great NEWS! The king is back! Obrafour drops his new single, “Odasani,” tomorrow! Premiers today on Bola Ray’s show. Produced by Oteng.
Such a huge honor for me to be featured on this single. Chale when “Pae Mu Ka” dropped EVERYTHING changed. He shook up and defined lyricism in Ghana. Years later he’s still untouchable. Tell everyone that the Rap Sofo is back!
As we all know what this gentleman is capable of, keep your fingers crossed and wait. We at omgghana.com will not disappoint you, we will surely let you have a piece of the cake, so don’t miss out. If you listen to the song, you will in no doubt know that, Obrafour the rap sofuo is BACK!!
Don’t forget, it will definitely be on www.bigx.com.gh too.

John Dumelo is a Goddam Liar & We All Know It | So He Should End His Presidential Ambition…

John Dumelo-One of the celebrity ambassadors

Several Ghanaians in position take Ghana and the other citizens for GRANTED—and it seems Ghanaian actor-John Dumelo is no better than the many corrupt politicians we currently have.

It is therefore not shocking that John Dumelo has told close friends that he is nursing a presidential ambition—and has even stated in various publications that he will soon venture into politics.

A surface assessment of John Dumelo’s sense of honesty in relation to the recent Brazil 2014 ambassadorial happenings indicates that John is a goodam liar and this is why we say so.

Before the ambassadors travelled to Brazil, John Dumelo told Ghanaians this;

“I can’t give you the actual figure because I don’t readily have all the documents in my hands but I can tell you that we have solicited well over $ 2million dollars”

John went further to reveal that their celebrity ambassadorial work is purely voluntary – they will receive no pay. “On the letter of appointment, it was indicated that it’s a voluntary work. There was no pay in it” he said.

When Becca was placed in front of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry tasked to look into the whole Ghana’s 2014 World Cup fiasco, she stated she was paid about 3700 dollars as an ambassador—for barely doing anything.

And GhanaCelebrities.Com has been told by a reliable source that, John Dumelo was even paid more than the 3700 dollars that Becca received—perhaps the double of that amount. Yet, John Dumelo who knew from onset that he was going to paid alongside the other ambassadors told Ghanaians, his role comes with no pay.

We surely do not want such a person occupying any high public office in Ghana—we already have many of John’s kind in politics, the reason why Ghana is stagnant on its last legs, yet swimming fast in a pool of corruption….

Interestingly, our source also said, Becca’s manager-Kiki Banson was also out there in Brazil and the important question the Commission missed which we should be asking is this; who paid for his trip considering the fact that he was not officially appointed as an ambassador?

I Slept On The Streets Of Ghana Before Stardom – Nigerian Musician Patoranking

Today, Nneameka Okorie, popularly called Patoranking, is one of the most celebrated reggae-dancehall artists in Nigeria and by extension, Africa.

But the story, like that of most people, has not always been good for the ‘Alubarika’ star.
Patoranking he revealed in an interview on Starr FM that his music career actually started off in Ghana.
According to him, “I started music from my mum’s belly, but dancehall has always been something that I grew up listening to and it was perfected in Ghana.”

Patoranking’s first trip to Ghana, according to him, was in 2007 after he was admitted to Cape Coast University. After a year at the university, he dropped out due to financial constraints.
“I had to move from Cape Coast to Accra. I was sleeping on the streets of Osu just to make it. We must make am now…survival at all cost,” he said.

He added that: “The only option I had at that point was making it in life because I just had to change the course of my family, the face of my family you know…being the first child…I just say thank you Lord and to everybody that never doubted me. I pray for them still and we’re still together.”
It is on record that while hustling in Ghana, Patoranking met a young Ghanaian entrepreneur named Lanky on the streets of Osu who partnered with him to achieve his dreams.
Lanky started a production company called Black Rhythms Entertainment and made a few tracks with him, the songs enjoyed some airplay but it was difficult to break through in Ghana so he returned to Nigeria and the rest, as they say, is history.

Charter House Sues Shatta Wale For GHS10M Over Defamatory Videos

The nation’s number one event production company Charterhouse have brought a lawsuit for defamation against Ghanaian dancehall artiste and reigning Artiste of the Year at the same company’s annually organised Ghana Music Awards Charles, Nii Armah Mensah Jnr aka Shatta Wale.

The Plaintiffs are seeking the court, inter alia, to award damages of ten million Ghana cedis against the Defendant for what they consider as defamatory statements made against them in some videos he recorded and uploaded to Facebook.

Documents sighted by this website show that the suit numbered APB/2015 and dated 2nd October 2014, which also has as plaintiff the CEO of the company Mr. Iyiola Ayoade, was filed at the Fast Track Division of the High Court in Accra in relation to four separate videos the musician uploaded on social media which they consider as defamatory.

The two plaintiffs, that is Charterhouse and Mr. Ayoade, pray the court to declare that the Dancehall King singer had defamed them with the four separate videos he recorded and uploaded to his Facebook page. According to the writ, two each of the said videos were respectively uploaded on 23rd and 24th September 2014 respectively.

Another relief the Plaintiffs are asking from the court is to order the Defendant to render “an unqualified apology and retraction of each of the four separate videos with the approval by the Plaintiffs prior to the recording and uploading” to his Facebook page and to remain on his page for one month within a week of the judgment.

The third relief sought by the Plaintiffs is for Shatta Wale to send the four videos in which he renders apologies to the Plaintiffs to “all media houses and online publications that have aired the defamatory videos complained of and ensure that same and/or published at his own expense” within a week of the judgment.

The Plaintiffs again seek the court for an “order of perpetual injunction restraining the Defendant, his agents, hirelings, manager(s), privies and assigns or any person through him and howsoever described from making and/or repeating the defamatory statements or similar statements in the nature of the ones complained in the video recordings.”

Pending the hearing of the case, as requested by lawyer for the Plaintiffs Egbert Faibille Jnr, on 20th October 2014, the Plaintiffs are praying the court to order an interlocutory injunction on the Defendants from uploading on Facebook or any other social media platform the four videos aforementioned and/or any other similar videos.

Ignore The Hype & Noise: 12 Ghanaian Musicians Who Put Ghana On The Map

When it comes to the world knowing Ghana, we are more recognizable through soccer, but you will be surprised to know that, some musicians are contributing their quota to put Ghana out there.
Around the world, we have many foreigners dancing to Ghanaian music and trying to understand our culture through music, thanks to some of these artists I’m about to list. Some of our music have gone as far as China and with some artistes even making Spanish versions of them in Spain.
Music is food to the soul and some of these artists have served the world enough to put Ghana on the map. There are many of them but we will be listing the most well recognized outside the borders of the country, the ones whose music are on the lips of many foreigners outside the country and can easily be recognized by the mention of their names.
You will be surprised to know some are new but are doing marvelously well on the international market. Some you may think are not doing well here but surprisingly are sending more signals outside and some who are so popular here but do not cross the borders will not make it on this list. So bare with us if your favourite artist is not mentioned, it doesn’t mean they are not making it outside, they are not that commonly known.
If you can bare with me, then come let me take you on a jolly ride on 12 musicians who have put and are putting Ghana on the map.

atongo-zimba_

Atongo Zimba is a Ghanaian musician who is recognized in the whole world. He’s one of the old musicians who was first featured on BBC and has traveled world wide with his music.
Atongo Zimba is one of the biggest music exports out of Ghana. He was born in the savannah of northern Ghana in 1967. His grandfather taught him how to build and play the koliko or molo, a two-stringed calabash lute and the first songs he learned were rooted firmly in tradition, dealing with everyday life in the countryside of northern Ghana.
His tours in Europe, South America and Africa, include a benefit for the 2010 Haiti Earthquake at the Alliance Francaise in Accra. His album Allah Mongode was recorded in Switzerland. Naa Ashorkor Marries Heartthrob, Cabutey

TV Presenter and actress, Nisirine Naa Ashorkor Mensah Doku, got married to Ahuma Cabutey Adodoadji, her boyfriend of seven years on Saturday, October 4.

The traditional marriage which took place at Naa’s family house at Spintex road was strictly a family affair.

On the eve of her marriage to her new husband, Naa Ashorkor, who is currently the host of The Zone on Starr FM told the world what attracted her to him.

In an interview with Starr FM, last Friday, the Perfect Picture actress said even though she had dreamt of a 'tall and deep-voiced man', her husband had something spectacular about him that was irresistible.

“He is intelligent, he’s super smart; he has a great brain and I think that’s what drives me crazy," she said.

“I realise now that what I thought I wanted is not what I want. I’m a very simple girl, and I appreciate the simplicity in everything. So I realise now that I just want someone I can be happy with, and that’s what I have now, and I’m grateful to God for giving him to me,” she added.

Naa and Cabutey met on the former’s first day at the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2006. Cabutey was then in his final year, and they became friends. They started dating after two years and have been an 'inseparable force' since then.

Naa Ashorkor said that although she feels anxious about the union sometimes, she is happy she will finally get to spend the rest of her life with the man who makes her happy.

“Generally, I feel different things at different times. Sometimes, I’m extremely excited, sometimes I feel happy and sometimes I feel some calmness in my heart because I feel that I’m legally spending the rest of my life with my best friend and someone I have known for years, someone I love and appreciate," excited Naa Ashorkor said.

“At other times, I feel confused. I think it’s a natural thing. But more than anything, I am happy,” she stated.

Bull Dog Denies Shatta Wale's #MadeOfBlack Contract In Danger Reports

It was earlier reported that Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale's #MadeOfBlack contract with leading breweries company, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) was in danger.

Narrating their side of the story on Happy Fm's Showbiz Xtra on Saturday, Bull Dog, Shatta Wale’s manager indicated that officials of the leading breweries company were surprised when they read the publication headlined, ''Shatta Wale’s contract is in danger'.

An excerpt of the publication read, “Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has started top level meetings over a possible review of a recent contract the company signed with Ghana’s reigning Artiste of the Year, Shatta Wale, to make him an ambassador of the ‘Guinness #MadeOfBlack’ campaign.”

The outspoken manager denied the story noting, “there is no iota of truth in it."

He further disclosed that an official from Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited called to question him if he had read the publication indicating that his artiste's contract with the breweries company is in danger.

He narrated, “I got a call from Guinness telling me about the story. They said there is a story in the newspaper, have I seen it? The person at Guinness said no, they have no intention or nothing to cancel the contract.”

“A story like that can go against Guinness. The story that went out is not favorable, and if care is not taken, people will put Guinness’ name in disrepute,” Bull Dog told Dr. Cann, host of the show.

News One reported few days ago that Shatta Wale’s #MadeOfBlack contract with Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited is in danger due to his recent public conduct and utterances.

According to the report, a top management member of the company disclosed to the paper that, “Even before he was signed, there was a split opinion; but within the last week, the complaints and feedback have been disturbing and all options are now on table on how to protect the brand’s reputation and image.”

Guinness Ghana recently signed EL, Reggie Rockstone, Fuse ODG and Shatta Wale as ambassadors for the #MadeOfBlack campaign.

Shatta Wale Contract In Danger

Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has started top level meetings over a possible review of a recent contract the company signed with Ghana’s reigning Artiste of the Year, Shatta Wale, to make him an ambassador of the ‘Guinness #MadeOfBlack’ campaign, NEWS-ONE has gathered.

Though the company has not issued an official confirmation, a source at the management level told NEWS-ONE there has been concerns as to whether the artiste’s recent public conduct and utterances reflect what Guinness stands for.

“Even before he was signed, there was a split opinion; but within the last week, the complaints and feedback have been disturbing and all options are now on table on how to protect the brand’s reputation and image,” the top management source noted.

Guinness Ghana recently announced the company had signed BBnZ’s EL, Reggie Rockstone, Fuse ODG and Shatta Wale as ambassadors for the #MadeOfBlack campaign.

“The four ambassadors will lead the conversation with their own #madeofblack selfie videos in which they will ask Ghanaians what they are made of. Consumers can get involved by uploading their own selfie videos. If your video is selected, you could see it shown on MTV Base during the Guinness Hour Black in October,” Judith Osei Ampofo, Ag Marketing Director for GGBL, explained at the unveiling ceremony.

On whether there has been any official petition presented against Shatta Wale, the source said there was none but added that there had been rising verbal complaints from various people. The source further stated that the current self-made videos the artiste is publishing on his social media sites have become a major issue of concern.

“We selected him because we wanted to ride on the fact that he was underground for ten years but remained resolute and determined to make it to the top and eventually his dreams came to pass. We felt that attitude of determination, strong will power and positivity reflects our brand.

But the feedback is not exactly what we expected; and the complaints keep rising.

The concerns have been whether our brand represents and endorses his public outbursts, insulting nature, usage of vulgar words on media platforms and taking videos of himself insulting and running down other companies, some of which are our stakeholders, clients and customers,” the source added.

Shatta has been in the news for the wrong reasons in recent times, the latest being his selfie videos in which he made rather defamatory statements against several persons.

The artiste incurred the wrath of many journalists when he recently took to his official facebook page to write: “IN FACT GHANA MEDIA IS THE MOST FOOLISH MEDIA I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE…ANY MEDIA THAT PUBLISH ANY FAKE NEWS ABOUT ME SHATTA WALE IS A PUSSY…!!! I HAVE SAID IT…PUSSY.” Surprisingly, the first person to like the statement on Shatta Wale’s wall was Bull Dog, his manager.

The artiste shot to fame about two years ago when he vandalised property at the International Conference Centre after it became evident that he had lost the Dancehall Artiste of the Year to his fellow musician, Kaakie.

He followed that up by insulting Kaakie and making a couple of nasty comments about her genitals. He went as far as releasing a song in which he insulted Chater House, organisers of the award.
