The
2014 BET Awards was held last night June 29 at the Nokia Theatre in Los
Angeles and Ghana was well represented in Los Angeles in some the
pre-event festivities.
It started On Friday night June 27, where
music stars and 2014 BET Awards nominees for Best International Act –
Africa category - Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Mafikizolo, Diamond Platnumz
and Davido were at the International talent reception VIP party.
The
BET Experience at L.A. LIVE ahead of the 2014 BET Awards, A$AP Rocky,
Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign and August Alsina hit the Staples Center’s
stage for Saturday, June 28 plus a very special hip hop reunion from
Outkast, and Ghana’s leading rapper, Sarkodie was there to witness it
all, hanging with Snoop Dogg, Kid Ink and Samini.
Sarkodie was
spotted doing his sound check ahead of his performance at the BET
Experience weekend in Los Angeles. Sarkodie performed as part of the
“Music Around the Globe” presentation on Saturday 28th June 2014
alongside Tiwa Savage, Davido and Mafikizolo who were all nominated in
the “Best International Act: Africa” category.
On Saturday
Ghana’s own Sarkodie, Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage and Mafikizolo from South
Africa graced the stage at the ‘BET Experience in LA’ hosted by Ghanaian
actress Nadia Buari and Singer Fally Ipupa from D.R Congo.
Even
though Sarkodie lost the “Best International Act: Africa” to Davido on
the main night, he surely had a blast in Los Angeles meeting some
American stars including world heavyweight champ, Mike Tyson and
musician extraordinaire, Pharrell Williams, Rapper Snoop Dogg, among
others.
Samini who was not nominated decided to take a personal
trip to LA for the BET Awards 2014 and managed to take photos and maybe
building his connects several international stars including Paris
Hilton, actor and Rapper Nick Cannon, Nelly and others. Sarkodie, Samini
and Nadia also attended the main event.
The 2014 BET Awards
took place yesterday Sunday, June 29 and it aired live from Los Angeles’
Nokia Theatre. The event will be hosted by Chris Rock. There were
electrifying performances by Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj, Lionel
Richie, Pharrell William, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Usher, Iggy Azalea
with T.I, and others. |
