Samini Replies Shatta Wale, Use The 80,000 To Fix The Shape Of Your Mouth

In an interesting twist to the Shatta Wale – Samini beef, the self-acclaimed African dancehall king, Samini has responded to the call by Shatta Wale that he will pay him GHC 80,000 for him to perform with Wale. According to Samini, Shatta should use the money to fix the shape of his mouth….lol
Shatta Wale in an interview recently, stated that he doesn’t have any problem with Samini and proposed for the two of them to stage a concert together, The Samini-Shatta Wale Concert, for their fans.
The dancehall king and 2013 Artiste of the Year, further indicated that he doesn’t have any issues with Samini. He further indicated that he’s spoken to several people for them to talk to Samini on his behalf but nothing positive had come out of those pleas.
He called on Samini to take his offer of a concert together and stated that he will pay Samini Ghc 80,000 to mount the stage and perform with him. This according to him will indicate to their fans that they are not enemies.
In a secretly recorded conversation sent to the inbox of OMGGHANA, Samini is heard telling a friend that he will never mount a stage with Shatta Wale for any amount. According to him, he doesn’t see why he has to perform with Shatta since he Samini is not just any artiste but an international award winning artiste. He said that will amount to lowering his standards.
Commenting on the Ghc 80,000 offer made by Wale, Samini stated that if Shatta Wale has that amount of money, he should use it to fix the shape of his mouth…………… This really cracked us up ….lol
This Samini- Shatta Wale beef definitely isn’t going to end anytime soon. We are still listening to the audio. It’s about 45minutes so as and when we unravel something new, we will publish for our readers.

This story is an OMGGhana satirical piece, and it’s for entertainment purposes only!! The intent is to mimic articles found in the headlines, but believe us, they are purely satirical.

Another Shatta Wale-Samini Story: Even MzVee’s Noise Couldn’t Get Her To The Top — Says Kaakie

We at OMGGhana.Com detest people who beat about the bush over obvious things, Kaakie is very talented and took the dancehall scene by storm. She even competed with Shatta Wale once and won an award against him.
It’s quite unfair to compare Shatta Wale and Kaakie but in Kaakie’s absence, a new dancehall artiste, MzVee came to run things (She still is) and building his fan base slowly. She even bragged once that she (MzVee) is not intimidated by Kaakie and she is the real Dancehall Queen (you know how Ghanaians love titles).
Between both artistes, I can say they are equally good but I will personally choose Kaakie over MzVee for so many reasons but let’s leave that for another day. Kaakie was interviewed today on Prime FM and she bragged. As much as she didn’t mention names, it’s obvious who she was referring to and it’s none than MzVee.
Of course competition helps in many ways and we know for sure Kaakie is doing this to promote her new single “Ronaldo (LISTEN HERE“. It might work, maybe she will be the next Shatta Wale. Below is what she said in her interview.
Hahaha. While I was taking care of other similarly vital engagements people thought I was just a flash in the pan who would not continue with my music career. I’ve been quiet because I needed a lot more concentration in my umpteenth uni activities.
It was all good and I’ve completed successfully with a degree in Nursing, and I am back in the scene fully to prove that I am the dancehall Ronaldo. While they were busy making so much noise, I watched and laughed behind the scenes.
I’ve done over 10 new studio jobs and didn’t even know which to drop first. But I finally settled on #Ronaldo. I dribble their thoughts like Cristiano Ronaldo and I am very matchless on the scene with full dominance on the scene. While I was away all their noise about this and that, people comparing me to babies yet those babies with their noise couldn’t even go beyond Nsawam.
I’m the female dancehall nonpareil in Africa and my fanbase keeps spreading like cancer – I do classic songs that are ageless so I have no time to worry about toddlers. So much love for my music – the numbers keep multiplying from Gabon, Gambia, Zambia, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Cameroun, Nigeria and even Mauritius. I’m very busy, I’m on another level now. They ain’t seen anything yet!
Tell us, who you think she was referring to.

MzVee Replies Kaakie

MzVee, real name Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda has been around for some few months and has managed to bait tons of adoring fans to her music. Her fans have declared her their Dancehall Queen, fanning the flames of an ongoing debate on who runs the female sector of Ghanaian dancehall music.
MzVee upon all these titles however chooses to remain modest and humble, stating in her new song “My Time” that she is still rising and is not yet a queen.
When Lynx entertainment announced the release of MzVee’s latest tune “My Time” featuring Lil Shaker, fans went mad with anticipation, displaying the level of trust they have invested in her. MzVee fans were certain that their diva will thrill them yet again.
The song “My Time” displays MzVee’s ability to flow on any instrumentation as she seemed comfortable on the hardcore hip-hop beat created by the multiple award winning producer, Richie Mensah.  In a chat with MzVee, she stated that the song is a statement.
“After a lot of hard work, it’s time to appreciate my fans and declare that it’s our time”the bubbly singer stated.
Listening to the track, even the sternest of all critics will appreciate the lyrical ability of MzVee as the song carries an impressive level of word play. Lil shaker after dropping impressive hooks and chorus on many hit songs, proves his worth once again.
He is heard declaring MzVee a confident conqueror on the chorus of this song. After blessing the song with great vocals,  he states in Ga, a local language that “it’s about to go down”, MzVee then responds chanting in her native Eve dialect that she has arrived. The aggressive approach of in her delivery indeed attests to the fact that she is not in for jokes.
MzVee embraces her success so far and displays her unwillingness to relax as she declares;

“Started from the bottom now I’m rising, not a queen yet, but the throne I’m climbing.
It’s too early to declare myself a queen, if I do that now, there will nothing left to say when I’m at the top. ” the musician retorted.

Milovan Rajevac is in Ghana to Take Up Black Stars Technical Advisory Role | First Right Move the Ghana FA has Made in Ages

Milovan Rajevac

Kwesi Appiah is incompetent. It is a subjective opinion, but one I’m pretty sure majority of Ghanaians would agree with me on. Since taking over the team over two years ago, the Black Stars have moved from disaster to disaster whilst he stubbornly refuses to resign, and his employers refuse to fire him; because he’s the most amenable coach they’ve hired in a while.

Kwesi Appiah’s problem is not limited to on the pitch failings- though that’s a big part of it. The Black Stars camp has become a circus with him in charge, with no leadership from him meaning the players have free rein to basically do whatever they like. This has led to several incidents such as the world cup fiasco, incidents with Muntari and Prince Boateng, Asamoah Gyan leaving camp before last Saturday’s game; and has led to a laissez faire atmosphere which has severely hampered the Stars’ performances on the pitch.

It is against this backdrop that former coach Milovan Rajevac is in town to be named as the technical advisor for the Black Stars. The Serbian, who led the team to our best ever world cup performance in South Africa, is to serve in a largely ceremonial role over his former assistant.

The whole technical director saga has raised eyebrows, especially with people worrying over whether it’s not redundant to have a technical advisor whose functions are not particularly clear, and whether there wouldn’t be a usurpation of the coach’s power. After events over the last few months, Milo is being welcomed as a Messiah of a sort.

And that more than anything reveals how bad Kwesi Appiah’s tenure has become, if the former coach who left under acrimonious circumstances is being welcomed with open arms.

Rajevac makes Ghanaians nostalgic for the time he was in charge, when discipline reigned supreme in the Stars’ camp. And it wasn’t just discipline in camp, but on the pitch as well. 2010 saw Ghana playing the most organised football in our history, a game based on a solid defence and swift counter attacks, one which required commitment and dedication of all eleven men on the pitch.

I feel that for Ghanaians now, that is all we require from our Black Stars, and people are hoping that Milo’s return could spark off a change in the mentality of the Black Stars. Also any solution that might help Kwesi Appiah get a little more competent is welcome to us as a people.

For now Milovan Rajevac would meet the three member committee charged with choosing the technical advisor, and then his appointment would be subject to approval from the GFA’s Executive Committee. These should be mere formalities though, as appointing Rajevac would be the first good move the Ghana FA would have made in a long while.

With reports circulating indicating Kwesi Appiah has been given an ultimatum regarding the Togo game, maybe he might just lose and then get himself fired, leaving Rajevac to be the substantive head coach. Judging the public’s mood, I know a vast majority of us wouldn’t mind that particular turn of events one bit.

Dear Asamoah Gyan, Get Your SHYT Together In Relation To Castro & Janet Bandu’s Disappearance

Asamoah Gyan and Castro

Dear Chris,

I am one of the many people who do not believe Asamoah Gyan is an angel of death or sacrificed his friend-Castro De Destroyer and female friend-Janet Bandu for riches.

Even if I am to believe this impossibility on the grounds of a hungry man looking for money, Asamoah Gyan will not fit into the box of a hungry man looking for man—he has more than enough cash to worry about sacrificing a fellow human being for more…

But to be frank, I am disappointed in the way Asamoah Gyan and his people are reported to have handled the whole Castro and Janet Bandu’s disappearance, especially after having listened to the tape GhanaCelebrities.Com published together from the family of Janet Bandu.

And also, having read various reports on how Asamoah Gyan’s brother-Baffour Gyan together with his manager hired some macho men to beat down a journalist who asked about the various mysterious speculations surrounding the death of Castro makes me wonder what is being hidden…

For a start, it is sad to know that after so many weeks, Asamoah Gyan has not been able to gather some elderly people and join these people to go and officially see the family of Janet Bandu, pay respect to them for their lost and offer them some sort of condolence as our Ghanaian culture demands.

Secondly, as the person who is reported to have organised the weekend trip away to Ada, he carries a higher duty to assist in the investigation by making himself available both to the two families and the law enforcement agencies, if indeed he wants to help—and also clear his tainted name.

Again, his unwillingness to even have anyone question him about this issue—be it a journalist or the police makes it seem he has something to hide. If not, what is the real problem in answering questiosn in relation to the disappearance?

Even if he does not want to talk to the media, what about the family of Janet Bandu who are so bitter about the way they’ve been shunned and the non-forthcoming of any answers in relation to the disappearance of their daughter?

Asmaoah Gyan must realize that he is not above the law in Ghana and he must get his shyt together.

Even if it is some sort of monetary compensation he will offer to the Janet Bandu family for their loss which he somewhat caused, he must do so. And he must make the family a friend in this time of hardship by assisting in whatever way possible to ease their suffering.

Cartoon Of The Week: Baffour Gyan Is Desperate For Out Of Court Settlement

Baffour Gyan Wants Out of Court Settlement

Missing Castro Saga: I'll Reveal The Whole Truth At The End Of This Month - Maurice Ampaw

Legal practitioner, Dr. Maurice Ampaw has exclusively disclosed that come the end of this month, he'll reveal the whole truth surrounding the whereabout of popular hip-life musician, Theophilus Tagoe aka Castro.

He also added confidently that he is aware the skipper of the Black stars, Asamaoh Gyan also knows.

In an interview with the XYZ Breakfast Show host, Moro Awudu, lawyer Ampaw said that he is surprised the police service has still not arrested Asamoah Gyan for questioning and interrogation.

The hip-life star got missing on the Volta estuary when he and a friend of his, Janet Bandu went jet skiing in the waters at Ada on 6th July.

Castro and Black Stars captain, Gyan aka ‘baby jet’ were at the Peace Holiday Resort at Ada, together with some friends, for recreation when the unfortunate incident occurred and despite intensive rescue operations they are yet to be found dead or alive.

Maurice Ampaw said upon his own investigation, he found out that a necklace worn by Castro was later found in a dustbin hours before he and his lady friend got missing.

“You cannot hide the truth, the truth is only one and I promise by the end of this month, I will come out with more revelations.

“If Ghana were a serious nation, we wouldn’t have allowed Marine Police to go and have fun on the sea, with the intention of searching for Castro's body. Asamoah Gyan also picked a boat saying he was going to search for Castro, these will not happen in a serious country," the ace lawyer opined.

Shatta Wale To Distribute Exercise Books To Deprived Schools

Reigning artiste of the year, Shatta Wale, is expected to distribute exercise books to students early next month.

His manager, Bulldog, who disclosed the news to Abrantepa on Radio Univers said that the distribution is to help support needy students in deprived schools.

“Shatta Wale believes that education is the key to everything. You will be confused with many things if you are not educated.

Lets not think that education is only in the classroom but the larger part of it is taken in the classroom that is why we are doing this in schools. It is to encourage students in the deprived schools,” he elaborated.

According to him, Shatta Wale who believes in education will start the supply with only exercise books in Accra and will later add other educational materials and extend it to other regions.

Bulldog further indicated, “currently, we are doing everything on our own so we are sharing the books for now. We will later add other materials to it because we are going for sponsorships to help this project."

Bulldog, Shatta Wale Are Not Business Minded And Professional - Tony Pon

Manager of Samini, Tony Pon has described Shatta Wale and his manager Bulldog as being immature and unprofessional for announcing to pay Samini GHS 80,000 for a concert.

Shatta Wale said in an interview with Sammy, host of AM Pluzz on Sunday, September 7 that he will “pay Samini GHS 80,000” if he accepts to share a stage with him on a concert dubbed, ‘Samini-Shatta Concert’.

According to Tony in an interview with IB on Cruise Control on Hitz FM, High Grade Family (Samini’s label) no more discusses issues pertaining to the duo because Bulldog always finds ways of hyping his artiste by involving Samini since that’s the only way they can indeed get attention from the media.

“With the ‘Samini-Shatta Concert’, I am a business man and will not decline their business proposal if they approach us the professional way which is favorable to us than sending messages through people, Bulldog has been in the industry for some time and that is his strategy but we have come far to pay attention to that,” Tony advised.

He further cautioned Shatta Wale to learn to hide himself from the media and public for some time than always seeking attention and relevance in the industry by mentioning Samini because he knows his attention level has gone low.

Shatta Wale, in the said interview revealed that he had tried his best to talk to Samini, but his efforts had not yielded any good results. Tony Pon debunked that allegation saying: “neither Bulldog nor Shatta Wale had called to discuss anything as such with me.”

Errmmm! Sala what is this? You could have done better girlfriend

Many people think we care about the wrongs and are happy to publish it but if you look at our website, we equally have good news but it’s funny how the bad news gets more attention. In other words, we are not here to tarnish people’s image, we are only here to speak the truth and just as we know, the truth sucks and hurts more in this side of town.

Last weekend another awards show popped up and the title is “Ghana Fashion Awards” and just typical, award shows in Ghana don’t award those who deserve the awards but the ones known. Most award shows in Ghana award undeserved people which has made it quite hard for people to respect these award shows.
At the Ghana Fashion Awards, we saw famous people like Peace Hyde, Ruff N Smooth among others. But some of the fashion at the awards show, sorry to say were really not on point. Don’t take our word for that. Just flip through for some of the worst dressed at the Fashion Awards. SMH

E.L Is Better Than Me – Joey B Reveals

el joey b

In Ghana, there are legion of rappers but few can be chosen as the best. E.L and “Tonga” hitmaker Joey B will not be excluded when naming few of the nation’s best rappers.

It becomes hard to choose the best when two equally good rappers are presented for the most excellent to be chosen. Discovery of the year award-winning artiste at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards, Joey B has stated emphatically that award-winning music producer and rapper, Elorm Adablah known by his stage name E.L is better than him in the world of rap.

Joey B revealed this on the EFGH show with Peace Hyde when he was hit with the question “who would you say is a better rapper, Joey B or E.L?”
“This is going to be hard because I believe in myself and there is noway I’m going to leave myself out. E.L should take that.”
On why E.L is better than him, Joey B responded; “he can sing and rap, play the beat, and he produces as well. I mean its E.L, trust me”.

Upset Family of Janet Bandu, the Girl Who ‘Disappeared’ With Castro Says There is a Foul Play + Asamoah Gyan ‘Murdered’ Janet Bandu & Castro | Says Asamoah Gyan’s Girlfriend Who Was At Ada is Hiding SOMETHING Important

Janet Bandu

Over a month ago, we were slapped with a shocking news that Ghanaian musician-Castro De Destroyer and his alleged girlfriend-Janet Bandu had disappeared while jet-skiing in Ada, a weekend away from home organised by Ghanaian football star-Asamoah Gyan.

Today, Janet Bandu’s father has alleged that, he thinks his daughter-Janet Bandu and Castro were murdered by Asamoah Gyan and his group of friends—and his suspicion comes from the fact that a certain Alberta (alleged girlfriend of Asamoah Gyan) who claims to have invited Janet Bandu to Ada has been behaving cunningly and throwing into the air various inconsistent stories.

Speaking on Neat Fm this morning, the family of Janet Bandu said, Alberta must come out to tell them where their daughter is—and that, since their daughter disappeared, this Alberta or Asamoah Gyan and his people have not come to even see them.

The family of Janet Bandu wants to know the truth, and this brings to force the recent question a certain journalist asked in relation to this same story that fetched him some heavy beatings…

The family claims that since Janet Bandu and Castro disappeared, Asamoah Gyan and those who claim to have been with these two people have not even come to see the family at all. The family also wants Asamoah Gyan arrested for proper interrogation—and that up to now, no one has questioned Asamoah Gyan who took the two people to Ada…

The father of Janet Bandu asked if Asamoah Gyan is above the law in Ghana or what?

It seems someone is hiding something and the stories do not just add up.

"I Will Pay Samini 80,000 Cedis To Stage A Concert - Shatta Wale

The rivalry between two of Ghana's top dancehall musicians, Samini and Shatta Wale has come a long way, and no one knows when this will come to an end. The two have thrown shots at each other which always awakens the beef whenever the fire quenches.

Any time any of the two is interviewed, the question about their contention cannot be left out. Shatta Wale in a recent interview on Pluzz FM proposed a Samini-Shatta Wale concert which he is expecting his old friend Samini to accept the motion.

"I propose a Samini-Shatta Wale show. The fans want it. We are not enemies, but he has made it so. I will pay him (Samini) Gh80,000 to come and perform if he accepts my request."

According to the dancehall artiste, he has no problem with the "Linda" hitmaker. Shatta Wale in the interview revealed that he had tried his best to talk to Samini, but his efforts have not yielded any good results.

"I always tell people that I don't have a problem with Samini, he has a problem with me."

The "Dancehall Commando" artiste added that he complained to R2bees member Mugeez days ago when he traveled to USA to advise Samini for them to unite, but he is yet to get results from his plea.

"When you talk about unity, I've tried my best to talk to Samini. Recently I met in Mugeez New York, and I told him to talk to his friend (Samini). This thing is business; he shouldn't take it like his father's property."

Will Samini accept the proposal by the 'Dancehall King' hitmaker?

Nigerian comedian Basketmouth on Monday admitted that Ghana gave him his biggest career changing exposure.

Bright Okpocha, real name, started his comedy career in 1990, but his performance of ‘Two Things Involved’ at the Accra International Conference Centre, gave him many “opportunities to perform across the world”, he said on the STARR DRIVE with Bola Ray.

“My first gig that gave me an international breakthrough was done in Ghana and that was when I did the two things involved.”

“It was that same show that the guys in South Africa, UK and in the States saw and they picked me and all that stuff happened in Ghana at the conference centre”, he noted.

Basketmouth is now one of Africa's biggest international acts and has shared the stage with other international acts such as Jay Z, Joe, Boyz II Men, Dru Hill, Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, Wyclef Jean, Kool & the Gang, Akon, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Fat Joe, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Chris Brown and others.

He, however, insists Ghana is his home and will forever be grateful for the opportunities Ghanaians keep giving him.

A Journalist Asks Asamoah Gyan A ‘STUPID QUESTION’ In Ghana & He Gets Beaten? | The Animalistic Behaviour Of Third World Citizens

Asamoah Gyan-Captain of Black Star

Few days ago, it emerged that a certain journalists with Daily Graphic- Mr. Daniel Kenu had asked Ghana’s Black Stars’ captain-Asamoah Gyan a “stupid question” and apart from the fact that, Asamoah Gyan and many others were angered by the question—Asamoah Gyan’s older brother-Baffour Gyan was later reported to have gotten the journalist beaten/assaulted, by some macho men he hired.

As a strong Human Rights advocate, the above makes me wonder what sort of animals some of us are or have become, at a time when we are relentlessly fighting to move away from such barbaric happenings…

From what I’ve heard, the ‘absurd’ question the journalist asked was to get a confirmation or otherwise from Asamoah Gyan on whether he actually “sacrificed” his friend-Theophilus Tagoe popularly known as Castro for riches—considering the mystery surrounding Castro’s recent disappearance at Ada.

This question may seem unnecessary in relation to the timing but no one can totally ignore the fact that the hovering superstitions and speculations somewhat make this a valid question—and if a journalist wants to ask, he has every right, be it legal or moral to ask.

Asamoah Gyan has a RIGHT to answer or choose not to answer and for a person in his position, answering the question even if he thought it was absurd would have been the best option.

I do not think it would have taken much of his breath or taken anything away from him to have just answered with a smile by saying; that is a far-fetched superstition and nonsense; I do not know anything about this and I can never do this to anyone, talk of my own friend I love.

It is interesting to know that Asamoah Gyan has played and stayed in the United Kingdom before—and currently plays and stays in a foreign land where you have some very provocative press men well protected by Press Freedom or Freedom of Speech who could have asked this same question. And I wonder if he would have treated them the same or his brother would have proceeded to have a journalist from UK’s Mirror or Sun Newspaper beaten for asking this same question.

Such occurrences do not just bring to light our poor understanding of the most important RIGHT we may have as human beings, Freedom of Expression but also, it puts to test how much we’ve developed out of the animal skin—and more importantly, how we believe those whose words offend us must be treated.

I’ve always maintained that, the true essence of free speech is the RIGHT to be offensive. And no one has any right to punch another person because he finds his words revoltingly offensive.

As Voltaire said; “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”. This is the true essence and test of how civilized a person is, not how much money the person has sitting in his bank account.

This cannot happen anywhere in the West but it will happen in Ghana and you will have some esteemed people supporting such actions, instead of subjecting them to the commendation they deserve.

Perhaps, being a third world country citizen makes you more of an animal than those in the West, where tolerance and respect for Free Speech have become a hallmark of their existence.

I’ve heard some pretty absurd questions being thrown at world leaders and politicians including President Obama, David Cameroon, Tony Blair and the others—but I am yet to hear that any of those who simply asked the questions have been beheaded or beaten.

Just as Carl Sagan, in his work-The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark stated: “There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question”.

And I will add that, no person deserves to be beaten for simply asking a question, even if the question is self-styled to be stupid.

Asamoah Gyan, his brother-Baffour Gyan and all those who are in support of this caveman brutality must bow their heads in shame…

In The Bedroom Men Want Big Breast – Actress Lydia Forson

Lydia-Forson-400-x-400

She is one of he hottest babes out of Ghana movie industry and she has all it takes to grab the attention of any man, anytime. Lydia Forson used to be shy about her big stuffs, but not anymore. Now she enjoys it:

What role will you not play in a movie?
I never say never! So, I don’t know. Sometimes, you say something, but 10 years after, you are caught doing it. There are some situations I pray I’m never put into. But if it is for me to tell a story, why not?

undefined

Most plus-size actresses have challenges getting certain kinds of roles that are seen to be only for slim people. Could you share your experience with me?
I always try to be as realistic as possible when I’m answering this question because it’s so easy for me to say it’s not a problem. I want someone reading to know that she is not the only person going through these challenges. The truth is, I accepted my body years ago. But I have my days: there are days I look at myself and I’m not too happy.. And there are days I look at myself and feel like I’m so sĂ©xy.

But the reality is, everybody, whether you are slim, short, tall, light or dark, you will have your days. But you have to accept yourself the way you are at that particular moment. If you can’t change it, rock it! Yes, the pressure sometimes makes you wanna lose weight. But I think my focus now is just being healthy. You don’t wanna be 30 and look 40. So, I’m not a strong advocate of lose weight and be a certain size. The truth is, everybody wishes that he or she was somebody else. No human being looks at himself or herself in the mirror and says, ‘I am perfect’. And that’s the message I like to put out there. People will look at me and say, ‘Oh! Lydia, you are so perfect. We love your body.’ No, I have my days. And there are days I’m like, you know what, I’m the best thing that ever happened to this world.

Is your size hereditary?
Yes, I’m a Fanti. I don’t think I’m a big girl. I think I’m just a buddilious girl. I just have a big butt and big b00bs. Fanti women are just like that; they are very curvy. It is something that when I was six years old, I wanted it; but when I was in class six, I wanted it to go away. But you grow up and realize the truth that a man wants something he can hold on to. They may look at the skinny models. But they always know what they want in bed. It’s not x-rated, but I’m just saying they know what they want.

Inside Story: How Baffour Gyan Led Thugs Against Graphic Reporter

gyan

Baffour Gyan, the elder brother of Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, last Friday led thugs to attack the Ashanti Regional Editor of the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Mr Daniel Kenu, for what he deemed as an unfair question the journalist posed to his brother at a press conference a day earlier.

Mr Kenu’s question at the Miklin Hotel was premised on an incident at the Baba Yara Stadium during one of the Black Stars training sessions ahead of the Ghana-Uganda 2015 AFCON qualifier. A group of youngmen emerged from nowhere and asked Gyan to produce the body of Castro, the hiplife artiste, an age-long friend of the Stars skipper. They alleged that Gyan had used him for rituals.

At the press conference, Mr Kenu, a seasoned journalist with more than two decades of practice, urged Gyan, whom he had covered since his Academical days, to seize the opportunity to tell Ghanaains his side of the story to put a closure to the matter.

But the question rather infuriated the Al Ain player and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) officials present who thought the timing was not right, particularly at a time the Stars were engaged in preparations towards a crucial AFCON 2015 qualifier against Uganda last Saturday.

Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, the president of the GFA, quickly intervened and told the player not to answer the question, insisting that the question bordered on the metaphysical and unfounded allegations.

In the unfolding drama, Gyan attempted to confront the journalist but he was restrained.

Mr Kenu, took advantage of friendly discussions with Mr Nyantakyi, Coach Kwasi Appiah and his assistant, Maxwell Konadu, after the press conference to plan his escape from the venue of the press conference as some angry thugs planned to attack him when the programme was over.

In the process, his reading glasses fell and he lost his wallet.

But that was not to be the end of the drama when a day before the 1-1 drawn match against Uganda, Baffour Gyan, together with Samuel Anim Addo, an errand boy of the Black Stars skipper, led machomen to brutally assault Mr. Kenu.

It was Addo who started it all as he exchanged pleasantries with the journalist at the entrance to the VVIP Lounge, on his way to secure his accreditation for the match.

Before he could reciprocate the gesture, Baffour butted in Ga, literally translated ‘paddy, what sort of stupid question did you ask my brother,’ and before Mr Kenu could respond, he followed with a hefty slap.

It was a hellish moment for Mr. Kenu as Baffour and his machomen launched series of hefty punches on him, while Addo pretended as a peacemaker restraining Mr. Kenu’s assailants.

But for the intervention of one Stephen Asante, a reporter at the Ghana News Agency, who prevented the thugs from smashing Mr Kenu’s Samsung tablet on the ground and causing further harms to his body, a fatal incident would have been recorded.

Since last Friday’s attack. Mr Kenu had been in so much pain, particularly in the head. He drove in the company of Asante to the regional police commander, Kofi Boakye, at the Ashanti regional police headquarters. He was directed to write his statement and subsequently given a police medical form to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The police commander quickly declared Baffour and his men wanted and detailed his men to hunt for them. Baffour and Addo were arrested and put behind bars until last Saturday evening when they were granted police inquiry bail and were expected to report to the police to assist in investigations in being arraigned before court.

‘I Like Kalybos But I Love Someone Else’ - Ahoof3 Patri

Ahoof3 Patri has spoken at last. The adorable actress in the hilarious Kalybos movie clips has categorically denied dating Kalybos, the character who is constantly on her trail.

For the last few weeks, speculation that Ahoof3 Patri, real name Priscilla Opoku Agyeman, was dating Kalybos has gone viral in social media circles. But the pretty lady, a final year student of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) has dismissed the story as mere fabrication.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz last Friday, Ahoof3 Patri said, “I like Kalybos, but I’m in love with someone else."

According to her, she considered Kalybos as a brother and friend and asked the public not to take what she does with Kalybos in the comedy series seriously because they are only acting.

Not long after she featured on Boys Kasa: Adventures of Kalybos, Ahoof3 Patri began to win the hearts of viewers on social media with her acting skills and has continued to attract more attention after her participation in Airtel television commercials.

“Well, I have known Kalybos for more than three years and he is a nice person. I have had people ask me if that’s how funny he is away from the cameras," she said.

“There are times when he does something to me, and I vow not to talk to him, but before I know it, he says something funny and then I start laughing again. We are very close, but there is nothing intimate to it” Ahuof3 stressed.

Asked if she would agree to go on a date if Kalybos asked her, she responded, “I am his sister; Kalybos would never ask me to go out with him. Which brother asks his sister to date him? She said laughing.

“I am in a serious relationship, and it’s not with Kalybos,” she said.

The 23-year-old, said acting has always been her dream, but she never thought comedy was what would shoot her into the spotlight.

Ahuof3 Patri said although her fame has come as a surprise to her; she is learning to get used to all the attention she gets from her fans in order not to be seen to be disrespectful and pompous.

She pledged her commitment to learning from successful actresses in the industry who have a positive attitude and whose contribution to the development of the industry is making a positive impact on society.

What Are Ghanaian Movies Turning Into? Watch This 18+

over

It’s slowly becoming apparent that, for a local movie to sell, it needs a bit of a sexual undertone. When Socrates Safo dropped “hot Fork”, it became the talk of town because of the movie title. Now, you won’t need a movie title to tell you it’s going to contain scenes adult in nature. We are slowly losing our grip on marketing movies that can compete against international movies like the ones premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. A fast sell is what drives a few of the movies released to the market. Check out the trailer for this one, titled “Over”

The captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, has reportedly left the senior national team’s camp in Kumasi barely an hour before their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda.
According to Citi FM’s Sports Editor Gary Al-Smith, Gyan left for the police station to post bail for his detained elder brother, Baffour Gyan.

Baffour was arrested on Saturday after allegedly leading an attack on a journalist on Friday evening.
Gary Al-Smith reports the journalist understood to be Daniel Kenu of the Daily Graphic, asked the Black Stars captain at a press conference on Friday: “rumour says you used Castro [Gyan's dead friend & popular musician] as a sacrifice to get richer. What do you say?”

The question was not well received by Gyan, who is alleged to have sent some thugs, led by his brother, to assault Mr. Kenu.

Gyan has been named in Coach Kwesi Appiah’s starting line-up to face Uganda, but it is still unclear if he will feature in the game given recent developments.

LISTEN: Edem (@iamedem) Disrespects Ghanaian Rappers On “Best Rapper”

EDEM - Best Rapper (Cover Art) (1)

Here we go again! The #Koene Hitmaker has gone totally berserk in his new single and heavily whips other Ghanaian rappers as weak. Says they only “do songs for radio but he does songs for stereo.”
The cover art for the hit single alone speaks volumes, and puts Edem in the light of a “rap deity.”
Edem claims he is the dopest emcee by all standards. With gingered punchlines in the new song titled “Best Rapper”.

“I don’t follow trends. They are my sons in the game so I father them. I am the greatest rapper with original trend. They are all my sons because I Father them in the game of rap. Oops, you will know about the rest in the song when it drops,” Edem jabs.

The “Best Rapper” single also features Ghana’s legendary reggae singer, Black Prophet, who also pangs with his lyrics to endorse Edem as the locoweed of Ghanaian rap. With finely laid lyrics by Edem, the upbeat joint would keep you listening like forever. Edem stomps every kick on the beat with his new style of rap ‘like an Arabian King’. Mix Master Garzy did a great job on the joint which passes for a classic piece.
Edem has been super busy this year dropping multiple bangers and accompanying videos ahead of his much anticipated upcoming album “Books And Rhymes”.

The African Rap Mogul, Edem, is due to release the “Books And Rhymes” album this October with over 5 accompanying videos for songs on the album. About 35 songs are rumoured to be on the album.

The song in contention is called “Aboa Sika” which is the ninth track on Bisa K Dei’s ‘Thanksgiving’ album that has hits like ‘Odo Carpenter’ and ‘Baba.’

When the “Odo Carpenter” hitmaker was contacted by the paper, he confirmed that he did not inform the movie producer before adding it to his album. He justified his action stating that he did not give the total right of the song to Paul Gee so he saw no reason in seeking for his approval before adding it to his album.
