Flex newspaper report has it that an ex – convict and artiste from The Last Two camp, Motia was recently interviewed by Barima Kaakyire Agyemang on Top FM and this had him narrating how being imprisoned has positively shaped his life as a better individual. Prior to his imprisonment, he released a single ‘Dora,’ featuring Kwabena Kwabena on the Sounds of Our Time album produced by Hammer of The Last Two and also featured Screwface’s ‘Maabena’ track.
When asked by the host Barima aka Bro Emma what resulted in his imprisonment, he responded that he was coming up with a new song which was centered on the creation of God precisely the creation of mankind. Hence he needed human skulls for the video. He single handedly strolled through the Awudome Cemetery in Accra one night around 12 am and picked up 3 skulls, 3 leg bones and some other human parts specifically bones which he said were easy to get since most human bones just laid leisurely on the grounds of the cemetery. He didn’t have to dig up a grave or go through much stress. According to Motia, he got these stuffs safely to Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region of Ghana where his video was supposed to be shot.
This triggered fear among his team because most of them wondered how he acquired the human parts because the bones were mostly used for certain fetish reasons especially for money rituals. Due to this, one of the guys hinted the police on Motia’s indulgence in this unscrupulous act. The 29-year-old served a term of 6 months which he termed as a miserable and unbearable period of his life. He stated that pleading guilty to the crime aided in shortening his jail term and also his ignorance of the crime was evident because he was not aware of the fact that picking up free body parts from a cemetery could result in his prosecution since he later realized that those skulls could have been carved by wood carvers. He only tried to be real and authentic, according to him. Motia ended by stating that he had quit music not only because he had been through hard times but also because he was being vigilant and careful. He also said that there was no help from any industry player and that without a sound financial status, it is difficult to excel in the music industry.
